The work aims to show the names of the Western companies involved in the supply chains for the russian war machine. Despite the official sanction politics, various Western companies continued to supply russia with weapons parts, key electronics elements for its missiles, UAV’s, and other types of weaponry, as well as the other products of a civil infrastructure which find its final purpose in the russian military machine.
Today, almost 3 years after the start of the russian full-scale invasion, we can clearly see that Western sanction politics has completely failed for its own purpose. And one of the reasons why the sanctions don’t work is the division of the products into binary categories of ‘military’ and ‘civil’ infrastructure, the difference between which is much more blurred than actors leading the sanction policy would like.
Another reason is the Western politics itself, which, as it always were, are just a hypocritical mask of an upper moral ground, while the core of it is doing business as usual – selling weapons to all sides and laundering money on the wars. The aim of the work is not to point to an obvious – the failed Western politics, but to call each of us to an individual responsibility, when we support, work with, and buy products from those companies. They surround us in everyday life and we might not always be aware of their connection to the russian war, but that’s why we must be careful and pay our attention to the unpleasant details, stay informed and force those sponsors to answer for their bloody trade deals.
